Women Developers at ASG Mentor for WNY STEM Girls Coding Project
Women Developers at Applied Sciences Group have volunteered as mentors for WNY STEM’s Girls Coding Project. The event kicked off on July 29th with a dinner to meet and greet with the female students to start talking about their coding projects, which followed a two-week summer camp in coding basics.
Teams were built to identify a real-world coding challenge for which they will design their best solution. Starting September 17 until December 8, 40 middle school and high school girls will meet weekly to work on their projects. The girls coding groups are meeting at Buffalo State's Technology Building.
We are proud of our ASG Women Developers who are serving as mentors for these girls throughout their projects. We urge our developers to help the Girls Coding Project by providing advice from experience and mentorship while they work to develop their projects which will be useful to their school or community.
The Girls Coding Project is sponsored by WNY STEM, AT&T, Girl Scouts of WNY, and Buffalo State.
